It’s hard to love if you’re feeling fearful.
It’s hard to be brilliant if you’re feeling dull.
It’s hard to thrive if you’re feeling depleted.
It’s hard to feel content if you’re feeling anxious.

When we’re living a life that is not aligned with the truth of our souls, we often feel depleted, fearful, dull or anxious.

In Eat, Pray Love, Elizabeth Gilbert wrote,

if you are brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting (which can be anything from your house to your bitter old resentments) and set out on a truth-seeking journey (either externally or internally), and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue, and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher, and if you are prepared – most of all – to face (and forgive) some very difficult realities about yourself… then truth will not be withheld from you.

Your great life is a truth-seeking journey. Everything on the journey is a clue. Here are three clues you might not be following your truth.

Justification.

When we have to justify why we can do something or why we are not doing something, it’s usually because we’re avoiding the truth of what we truly want.

If you have a pile of reasons and explanations for the decisions you make, ask yourself what am I lying to myself about?

When you can enter into a choice without having to justify it, it’s a sign you are operating from your true self.

Body Complaints.

If you say yes and instantly feel the tension of regret or the pang of guilt there’s still time to say no.

Ask yourself what does my body want me to know?

Course correct.

It’s never to late to live your truth.

Bad Feelings.

Notice your feelings, feeling your feelings, and explore why your feeling what you are feeling.

Your feelings are your access point to your insight and intuition.

When we are out of alignment with who we are and the life we want to be living we’ll start feeling fearful, depleted, angry, resentful, depressed, anxious, irritable, or dull.

When you notice these feelings come up ask yourself, what does this feeling want me to do differently?

Make a choice.
Make the change.
